Max McCord
I grew up in Marin County wanting to be a race car driver, and spent time at Sonoma Raceway before I was ten. I picked up a camera as a high school freshman in 2019, and it turned out to be the way I could spend my life around cars.

What keeps me behind the camera is the art of it. A photograph holds one moment exactly as it was, and a film can carry the feeling of being there: the sound, the light, and what it truly means to be an enthusiast. That emotion is what I chase on every shoot.
And it has never been only about the metal, the carbon fibre or the titanium. Behind every car is an owner with a story, and around them a community that has proven itself stronger than I ever expected. Getting to document it, and to be part of it, is the best part of what I do.

Beyond cars
Most of my work is automotive, but I also photograph events, portraits and real estate, and I do graphic design. Working across all of them is what keeps the car work fresh.
I work closely with JB Today Studios in San Ramon on their premium productions and their Miles and Memories series, where owners tell the stories behind their cars.
